Member Bios
Alexia Alexander, a senior majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Nutrition. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, she has combined her passion for animals with academic and professional experiences that prepare her for a future in veterinary medicine. On campus, Alexia is actively involved in the VET-PAC Club and the Animal Science Club, where she not only gains hands-on exposure to the veterinary field but also helps guide incoming freshmen as they explore their career paths. She also serves as a mentor through the Mentor Collective program, supporting first-year students as they transition into college life. Off campus, Alexia works at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, where she provides daily husbandry for a wide range of species, and she enjoys shadowing veterinarians in specialties such as internal medicine. In her free time, she volunteers with students with autism, cares for horses at a local farm, and spends quality time with her friends.​​​
Shayla Battle, a senior double majoring in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering with a minor in Psychology. Born and raised in Raeford, North Carolina, she has dedicated her time at NC State to both academic excellence and campus involvement. Shayla is an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers and Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where she connects with peers and builds on her passion for STEM fields. In addition, she works at NC State Wellness and Recreation as a Sports Program Assistant, gaining valuable leadership and organizational experience. Following graduation, Shayla plans to obtain her FE License as the next step toward earning her Professional Engineering license and advancing her career in engineering.​​
Tse'Lani Carter, a senior majoring in Psychology from Roanoke, Virginia, and a Fall 2023 initiate of the KnockOut Kappa Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Throughout her time at NC State, she has been deeply involved in campus life and service. She is an active member of College Mentors for Kids, NAACP, Black Psychology Club, and Order of Omega, while also serving as a Good Molecules Student Ambassador and FSL Ambassador. In addition, she occasionally volunteers with Feed the Pack, reflecting her commitment to giving back to the campus and local community. With aspirations of becoming a Child Psychologist, Tse’Lani plans to pursue her doctorate and continue her passion for supporting children and families through mental health care. Beyond her academic and organizational commitments, she enjoys reading, exercising, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family!​​
Calise Coleman, a senior majoring in Elementary Education, was born and raised in Erie, PA, before she relocated to North Carolina. On campus, she is involved heavily in the College of Education, where she serves on Ed Council committees, and is on the Campus Outreach committee of the Transformational Scholars Program. After graduation, she plans to serve as a teacher in Eastern NC, catering to underrepresented communities. Outside of school, she enjoys tutoring children, shopping, doing makeup, and going out to dinner with sorority sisters.​​
Mileah Godette, a senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a cross-discipline in Cognitive and Behavioral Science. Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, service, and academic excellence during her time at NC State. On campus, Mileah serves as a Program Assistant for Facility Operations at Wellness and Recreation, a Research Fellow, and a Teaching Assistant in the Biochemistry Department. She is also the Co-Founder and President of Beyond HERizon, Treasurer of the NC State Chapter of the Minority Association for Pre-Health Students, Vice President of Finance for the Pack Abroad Ambassadors, and an active member of both Mu Epsilon Delta Medical Honors Fraternity and the Order of Omega Honor Society. Outside of academics, she enjoys shadowing and volunteering with Duke Health, staying active through fitness, and reading in her free time.​​​​​
Lilyanna Hopkins, a senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Integrative Physiology and Neurobiology and a minor in Psychology. Born and raised in Somerset, NJ, she is pursuing a pre-medicine track with aspirations of becoming a physician-scientist. On campus, Lilyanna serves as President of the Minority Association for Pre-Health Students (MAPS). Beyond her leadership role in MAPS, Lilyanna works as a Medical Assistant at a dermatology practice, where she gains hands-on clinical experience in patient care and office procedures. She is also a Pre-Health Peer Advisor in NC State’s Career Development Center, a Biochemistry Teaching Assistant, and a Research Intern at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), where her honors thesis investigates the impacts of environmental toxicants on microglial function. She is also a member of the Biological Sciences Honors Program and the Order of Omega Honor Society.
​​Iyanna Robinson, a senior majoring in Fashion and Textile Brand Management with double minors in Business Administration and Spanish. Passionate about combining creativity with business strategy, she is actively involved in leadership and service on campus. Iyanna currently serves as the President of the African American Textile Society, where she works to foster community and representation within the Wilson College of Textiles. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to gain industry experience in the fashion field before pursuing her MBA, with long-term aspirations of becoming a Brand Manager. Beyond her academic and leadership roles, Iyanna enjoys exploring fashion trends, engaging with diverse cultures, and building connections that inspire her professional and personal growth.​​
Soleil Thompson, a senior majoring in Sports Management with minors in Communication and Business Administration. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she has cultivated a passion for leadership, athletics, and community engagement throughout her undergraduate career. On campus, Soleil serves as the President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), a College of Natural Resources Ambassador, and a Recruiting Intern for NC State Football. Beyond these roles, she is actively involved in a variety of organizations including BSB, NAACP, Order of Omega Honor Society, and College Mentors for Kids, where she continues to strengthen her leadership and service experience. After graduation, Soleil aspires to work in professional sports with the NFL or NBA, ultimately pursuing her goal of becoming the Director of Game Presentation & Event Operations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and spending quality time with her friends.
​​​​​I'Yari Wade, a senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a cross-discipline in Biomedical Ethics. On campus, she is a member of the National Innovation Council (NIC), the National Student Bioethics Association (NSBA), and the TRIO Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. She has also served in roles such as Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, and Student Media Photographer, and has built a strong research background as a Research Assistant and Laboratory Technician through NC State’s Office of Undergraduate Research and the Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology, where she contributed to projects in microbial analysis, fungal biology, and DNA sequencing. Off campus, I’Yari works as a Patient Relations Intern at an orthopedic surgery clinic, gaining valuable clinical and administrative experience. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a Master of Public Health and Health Care Ethics (HEC) certification while continuing her research, before attending medical school to build a career at the intersection of medicine, ethics, and public health. In her free time, she enjoys painting, watching films, going on nature walks, and reading about ethics, public health, medical issues, and history.​​​
